What we collect

The calculators on CalcNotebook run entirely in your browser. The values you enter (dates, amounts, measurements, generated passwords) are never transmitted to our servers and are not stored by us.

Advertising and third-party vendors

CalcNotebook plans to use Google AdSense to display ads. Ads are not enabled yet; this section describes how they will work once they are. When advertising is live, Google acts as a third-party vendor. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and others.

You will be able to control personalised advertising at any time: opt out of personalised Google ads in your Google Ads Settings; opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu; or block and delete cookies in your browser settings. For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Feedback messages

If you use the optional feedback box under a tool, your message (and email address, only if you choose to leave one for a reply) is relayed to us as an ordinary email and handled in our inbox. It is not written to any database, not linked to analytics, and the page address is attached solely so we know which tool you're describing. Don't include numbers you consider private — the calculators never send them, and feedback shouldn't either.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, from which countries and devices, and where the interface confuses people (aggregated heatmaps and session replays). Important boundary: the values you type into calculators are never sent to these services — they measure usage of the site, not the content of your calculations. Both services may set cookies; you can block cookies in your browser at any time.

Your privacy rights (EEA, UK & GDPR)

If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, data-protection law (the GDPR and UK GDPR) gives you rights over your personal data. Where we process any, our legal bases are your consent (for advertising and non-essential analytics cookies) and our legitimate interest in running and improving the site.

Your rights include access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability. Before we enable advertising, visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be shown a consent banner (a certified Consent Management Platform) with Accept, Reject and Manage options, re-openable via a "Cookie settings" link in the footer. To exercise any of your rights, email [email protected].

US state privacy rights (California / CCPA)

If you're a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell your personal information for money. To opt out of ad personalisation once advertising is enabled, use the controls in the Advertising section above. For any request, email [email protected].

Data retention

We don't store the values you enter — they never leave your browser. Analytics data lives with our vendors under their retention settings: Google Analytics 4 event data is retained for 14 months; Microsoft Clarity session recordings are retained for up to 30 days, with aggregated statistics kept longer under Clarity's data policies. Feedback emails stay in our inbox until resolved, then are deleted in periodic cleanups.

Children

CalcNotebook is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children; the site works without accounts, sign-ups or profiles of any kind.

Security

Because we don't collect the values you enter, there's very little about you for us to secure. The site is served entirely over HTTPS, has no user database and no login system — the safest data is the data that's never collected.

Who runs this site

CalcNotebook is an independent project. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected] — we answer within a few business days.
